Rearcross U-12's 0 - Nenagh AFC 'B' 1 (aet)

Rearcross U12's played host to Nenagh AFC 'B' in the Quarter Final of the U12 Plate played in Bilboa. Nenagh dominated proceeding for the 1st 5 minutes as Rearcross struggled to get to grips with the game. Rearcross came more into the game after this initial period of play with Eimear Carey, Ailin Rochford & Cathal Malone putting in a very strong performance in defence. Rearcross started to dominate proceedings and after 12 minutes Cathal Dervan struck the crossbar with a shot from 20 yards out. Rearcross kept the pressure on with strong performances from Ellie Kennedy and Gearoid Corrigan in midfield and on the 20th minute mark Joseph Dawson hit the upright with a shot from 10 yards. For the rest of the 1st half Tristen Deegan proved to be a handful for the Nenagh defence but at half time the side were all level at nil all.  
Nenagh took hold of the game again for the 1st five minutes of the 2nd half but a great display from Cormac Sheedy in goals kept the away team at bay. At the 15 minute mark Nenagh struck a shot from 10 yards out but the Rea keeper stretched to his right to deny the Nenagh side & put the ball out for a corner. Ailin Rochford was dominant in defence and with Tristen Deegan & Amber Deegan controlling things in midfield Rearcross played out the rest of the 2nd half the more dominant side. Nil all at the end of normal time. 5 minutes extra time per half was agreed to settle this very enjoyable contest. After the 1st period of extra time all remained square but immediately after the start of te 2nd period of extra time Rearcross dropped their concentration & Nenagh broke from the left hand side, crossed to the No. 9 who hit the top corner of Cormac Sheedys net giving the Rea keeper no chance. The rest of the period was evenly matched but Nenagh came out by narrow winners in the end with a score line of 1 nil.
